Legal Counsel - Global FMCG - Big Brands

Midlands (2 days in the office / 3 from home)

Seriously fantastic opportunity for a junior lawyer to move into a Legal Counsel role with this outstanding FMCG client of ours.

The company:

Our client has many iconic brands within its global business as well as some exciting, newer product lines which are leading the way in the sector. Culture wise, this is a vibrant, lively and fun business which really supports its people across the board. Consistently voted a top employer, the Legal team is sizeable enough for a junior lawyer to have plenty of support and mentoring but small enough that this new (growth) hire will make a demonstrative difference to the Legal team's work across Europe.

The role:

You will act as key business partner and take ownership of some projects as well as work alongside the Senior Legal Counsel on more complex matters.

Examples of type of work includes:

  • procurement agreements, capital expenditure agreements, distribution agreements, sales contracts, marketing promotions and sponsorship agreements.
  • There might also be some wider regulatory and disputes work ensuring this is a truly wide and varied opportunity.

This is a role which offers a great work-life balance.

About You:

You will be approaching qualification as a solicitor or a relatively recently qualified lawyer (NQ-2PQE).

You will have the ability to show commercial acumen and act as a trusted business partner, working alongside members of a number of other functions (as well as Legal).

You will be pragmatic, organised and able to maintain strong working relationships. You will enjoy collaborating with others and be keen to grow your experience in-house.

Your experience might have been gained in a law firm or in-house environment. Ideally you will at least have a commercial seat but this role could suit a junior corporate or litigation solicitor, for example, looking to undertake a more broad role in-house. It is your personality and skill set rather than experience (although experience in a commercial discipline is expected) that is essential at this level.

A competitive salary, bonus, generous pension and healthcare (and product discount!).

2 days in the office with 3 at home. Office in the Midlands and easily commutable from East and West Midlands.

This is a really great opportunity for a junior lawyer who wants to forge a career with a global business comprised of big brands.
