**Location:** Midlands HQ with Hybrid & Flexible Working Options (part-time/full-time, home-office flex), commutable from Birmingham, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire
We are thrilled to be working exclusively with a leading, high-growth leisure and fitness company that is looking to expand its Legal team by adding a Legal Counsel, open to candidates from NQ level upwards.
About the Role:
Our client is a successful and well-established group of companies with locations across the UK. The Legal team is highly regarded and collaborates closely with all business areas, providing comprehensive legal support to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and contribute to the company's mission of keeping its members fit and healthy through state-of-the-art facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing contracts (drafting, reviewing, negotiating commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service agreements, licences, SaaS agreements)
- Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on matters such as regulatory compliance, employment law, intellectual property, GDPR, and consumer law
- Overseeing compliance and risk management
- Delivering training and development within the business

About You:
You should have experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Our client is open-minded about how you have gained this experience, making this an opportunity that could suit a variety of lawyers. Whether you are an NQ or Associate from a law firm, an existing in-house Legal Counsel or Trainee Solicitor, or a more experienced lawyer seeking a flexible part-time role, this could be the perfect fit.
Key skills include analytical thinking, problem-solving, and excellent communication, both verbal and written. You'll need to be able to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders and be a proactive team player who is eager to immerse themselves in the business. Commercial acumen is essential.
