Senior Legal Counsel

We are delighted to be instructed exclusively by a huge household name client with some iconic brands. Our client is looking to hire a newly created Senior Legal Counsel to work as part of a strong UK & Western Europe Legal team which looks after a well-known and expanding portfolio of products.

You can expect to work on some superb deals and contracts, advising on commercially sensitive and important matters, including:

- on and off trade sales contracts

- HMRC and duty queries

- credit and lending queries

- competition law and Grocery Code of Practice advice

- working with sales and marketing teams

- building business partner relationship

- shaping the direction of initiatives

You will be involved with providing legal advice on complex and transformational and strategic matters. You will manage and support a small sub-team within Legal and support the Legal Director in delivering the team's objectives and contribute to the Legal leadership team.

You are likely to have some heavyweight in-house legal experience already and be able to evidence your business and legal acumen - an FMCG or retail background would be ideal. You will be experienced in complex commercial negotiations and contract drafting, supplier management and may have experience overseeing or managing litigation.

You will ideally have some people management experience as the role will involve the management of a Legal Counsel.   You will come with a strong communication style to support across all levels of the business.

The salary and benefits package is excellent. You will receive a strong basic salary, car allowance, bonus, pension and a range of additional flexible benefits. You will be expected to work 2 days a week in the office which is easily accessible from across the East and West Midlands.
