A leading, NYSE-listed business is seeking to appoint a Corporate lawyer into its UK legal team during a period of significant transformation.

The business operates a large, multi-brand network across the UK and the US and is currently undergoing active portfolio reshaping, including acquisitions, disposals, and integration activity.

As a result, corporate and M&A work sits at the heart of this role, rather than being ancillary.

The Role

This is a high-impact in-house position offering genuine exposure to strategic corporate matters.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting M&A activity, including acquisitions, disposals, integrations, and restructuring projects
• Advising on wider corporate and strategic initiatives aligned to business growth
• Supporting on commercial contracts
• Supporting governance and board-level matters as required
• Working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, compliance, procurement, and the executive team
• Managing two paralegals, who handle litigation matters and some commercial

Candidate profile

• Qualified lawyer with corporate and M&A experience
• Background in private practice and/or in-house
• Commercially pragmatic and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders on strategic matters

Package & Location

• Location: Milton Keynes (hybrid working)
• Salary: to £85,000 
• Bonus: Up to 15%

One of our key clients is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel into a broad 50% corporate / 50% commercial in-house role.

The position sits within a large, privately owned, entrepreneurial group with multi-billion-pound turnover and a strong acquisition track record. It’s a founder-led business that moves quickly, thinks commercially and backs bold decision-making.

This is a genuinely hands-on role where you’ll be:

• Running acquisitions
• Managing external counsel on larger transactions
• Leading commercial contract negotiations
• Advising on supplier and customer agreements
• Working closely with senior leadership in a fast-paced environment

They’re looking for a corporate-trained lawyer (6+ PQE) with:

• Strong private practice corporate foundations
• Solid in-house experience
• Proven commercial contracts exposure
• Confidence running transactions, not just supporting

About the Role:

This is a newly created, growth role for a Legal Counsel (or Senior Legal Counsel, depending on experience) to sit in the commercial side of the Legal team. Working closely with an experienced senior commercial lawyer (and as part of a much larger, sizeable Legal team), this role leans towards SaaS and IT but will include a range of broader commercial contracts, such as Procurement, Digital, Data & Tech, and Innovation.

You can expect:

• drafting, reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts 
• focus on technology agreements (SaaS, AI, digital systems)
• advising stakeholders on risk 
• supporting with procurement processes
• corporate affairs 
• contractual disputes and escalations
• implementation mechanics, improving processes, templates and playbooks
• SLAs and performance calibration
• translating technical requirements into robust contracts
• working closely with highly technical IT stakeholders
• shaping the commercial side of the legal function
• good visibility within the business

Experience Sought:

The role would suit an agile and adaptable, commercially minded, and technically strong contracts /IT lawyer. Whilst the ideal PQE is likely to be found in the 4-8PQE range, our client is open minded about more or less PQE if the experience and individual is a good fit. A lawyer who is only 2 or 3PQE but has focused on tech contracts for that time could work; similarly, someone with more broad experience and greater PQE which includes tech (such that they have good experience and are comfortable working and advising independently in this space) could also be suitable.

Hybrid / Flex:

You will be expected in the office (Warwick) one day a week. This is a full time role but our client is open minded to those seeking 4 days or more flexibility.
